It's a 2 horse race in Sedgefield!

Sedgefield

According to latest odds from the Bookies the By-election campaign in Sedgefield is between the Lib Dems and Labour. As expected the Conservatives have fallen back in the race and are at a distant 35/1. Greg Stone and the Liberal Democrat odds have been slashed from 25-1 to 17-1.

Interestingly enough, the odds at this stage of the By-election in Dunfermline last year were 20-1. The Lib Dems then shocked the political world by pulling off one of the biggest electoral upsets ever. The majority of the Dunfermline campaign team are now based in Sedgefield - alongside dozens of local members.

Greg Stone said, "Our odds are shortening by the day and it is clear that we are the only party who can now beat Labour. We are working hard throughout the constituency and the comparisons with the Dunfermline By-election are here for everyone to see. The fact that the Conservatives are at 35-1 shows that they are losing support and fast. More and more people are backing our positive campaign."

Very little money is being wagered here, so it is very easy for the LDs themselves to manipulate the odds in a form of insider dealing.

For a serious political party to cite bookmaker's odds is shocking, but in this case unsurprising.

why has greg stone shut down his labour watch site??? is that because he's a hypocrite for criticising negative political tactics by any chance?
